Please vote for who you think was Southern Indiana Sports Network’s Player of the Week for Week 1. These players were either sent in by fan recommendation or found through research after the week 1 recap. There’s a lot of great players in Southern Indiana and its hard to find them all. If we missed some awesome stat lines, please share them in the comments!

Robert Lamar, SR RB, Clarksville Generals

Lamar became Clarksville All Time Leading Rusher in week one, helping them beat Scottsburg 41 to 14. Robert Lamar rushed for 266 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also led the defense with 12 tackles and a forced fumble.

Cole Burton, JR QB, East Central Trojans

Cole Burton threw for 283 yards and 3 touchdowns enroute to a win over Lawrenceburg 38-3.

Clay McClelland, SO QB, Charlestown Pirates

McClelland finished the game with 241 all purpose yards and 5 total TD in win over Silver Creek 44-13.

Hunter Johns, SR RB, Linton Miners

Hunter Johns rushed for 116 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns in a win over Parke Heritage 56-6.

Jace Stuckey, JR QB, Triton Central Tigers

Jace Stuckey threw for 191 yards and had 5 Total touchdowns in a win over Cascade 42-14.

Mason Wunderlich, SR QB, Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats

Mason Wunderlich threw for 235 yards and 3 touchdowns in a shut out win over 4A Evansville Central.

Sawyer Wetzel, SR RB, North Harrison Cougars

Sawyer Wetzel had 15 carries for a career high 213 yards, to go with two touchdowns, helping the Cougars defeat Salem 40-7.

Keegan Smith, SR DE, Edinburgh Lancers

Our only defensive player, Keegan Smith had 10 total tackles (4 for a loss), 1 sack, 1 Fumble Recover, and 1 Safety in helping the Lancers win a defensive battle over Tindley , 14-6.
