The smell of popcorn is wafting through the hallowed halls of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall and the band is playing that oh so sweet fight song. This must mean one thing, Indiana Basketball is back in action. Our Hoosiers began their 22/23 campaign against the Morehead State Eagles. Our Hoosiers started off strong with 8 quick points forcing the Eagles into an early timeout. Race Thompson led the way early as by the under 16 timeout he had 6 of IU’s 12. Morehead State was able to come back and take the lead with 11:24 left in the 1st thanks to a lack of discipline from IU. Some questionable calls and some poor execution on offense has allowed the Eagles to stay in this game. IU would seemingly right the ship towards the end of the first half and take the lead 41-29 into the break.
IU would employ the same starting 5 as they did in the first. IU would begin to show why they are ranked as high as they are as they just started to completely dominate the undersized and under talented Morehead State squad. Indiana would completely dominate the rest of the way. Stay tuned to SISN for more post game coverage, including news and notes from the press conference and an in-depth recap of tonight’s game.
