North Daviess wins SISN’s Fan Favorite, Jaylen Mullen Favorite Boys Basketball Player for December 2022

It was a year ago at North Daviess’ Bobcat classic that we officially kicked off this media venture called Southern Indiana Sports Network. We didn’t know what to expect going in as media and getting to sit in the media area. The classic turned out to be an awesome experience. The fans, staff, and players of North Daviess have shown great hospitality and support as we’ve covered their team, and they really showed up for this vote.

So, it’s only fitting that a year later, we’re awarding the North Daviess Cougars basketball team and Jaylen Mullen with our SISN “Fan Favorite” Team and Player of December 2022. The voting was close there for a little bit, but the Cougar Crazies really came through at the end to give North Daviess the win over Jennings County with 5,261 votes.

The Panthers had 4,387 votes, and were ahead for much of the weekend, but the Cougars came in hot with votes as the last second to take the win in both categories. We finally got to experience Jennings County basketball over the weekend, and they’re team and fanbase has won us over. We’ll try our best to increase our media presence for the Panthers.

Jaylen Mullen wins December’s “Fan Favorite” Boys Basketball Player. Jaylen is a great player, student, and good person to chat basketball with. We’re grateful that Jaylen and his team have welcomed us to capture their story, its been a great one to tell, and we’re excited we get to present these awards to Jaylen and the team.

North Daviess Head Coach Brent Dalrymple had this to share,

“Jaylen has been the ultimate competitor and winner I’ve ever been around or coached in my entire career. It has not happened because he’s bigger and stronger or faster than everyone. He wins because he has truly spent the time and has the toughness to get it done in whatever sport he is playing. He is a great example for what hard work, perseverance, and mental toughness gets you. That will get you a long way in life in itself.

Our fans, @Cougar Crazies, and our whole community have been awesome over the last year and a half. We feed off of their support. We appreciate them and acknowledge the role they all play in this adventure we have been on. We thank them all very much. It’s truly been a blessing to be a part of this.”

We hope to award the team and Jaylen plaques by the next weekend. Thank you for voting and support us here at Southern Indiana Sports Network.
