Indianapolis, IND – The Indiana and Kentucky basketball rivalry continued Saturday evening as the best girls high school players from each state did battle on the hardwood. Indiana would look to avenge their loss in Owensboro last night and take the last one on their home turf. It was a hotly contested game throughout but Indiana was able to hold on for the victory 71-67.
Indiana, led by Miss Basketball and North Carolina Commit Laila Hull, and Butler commit Karsyn Norman, jumped out to an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter but let Kentucky back into it. It was a back and forth affair from then on. At the half Indiana would hold a slim 32-30 lead.
The second half would be much of the same. Indiana would continue to lead, however they could never seem to put away those pesky Kentuckians. Kentucky would take their first lead since early in the second quarter with about 2 minutes to go but Indiana, and more specifically Laila Hull would have the answer. Laila would put the Indiana Girls All Stars up for good with 11.4 seconds left. What a game this was.
