East Central Wins Second Straight IHSAA 4A State Championship On The Legs Of Josh Ringer

Indianapolis, IND – St. Leon will be popping tonight as East Central wins second straight IHSAA 4A State Championship behind a stout defense and masterful rushing from Miami(OH) commit Josh Ringer. They defeated Northwood 42-14.

For about a quarter, Northwood held their own and kept it even with the powerful Trojans. A 65 yard catch and scamper from NiTareon Tuggle brought the score to 7-7 midway through the second quarter. That would be the last time Northwood would score until another Tuggle receiving TD in garbage time.

It would then become the Josh Ringer show. He would amass an eye popping 251 yards on 34 carries and would find the end zone three times. East Central’s very big and extremely talented offensive line opened up huge holes time and time again and Ringer would prove why he is one of the most coveted backs to come out of Indiana this year. There was simply no stopping this blazing East Central rushing attack. East Central proved why they should be considered one of the top teams in Indiana regardless of class.
