Southern Indiana Football Player of the Week (Week 7)

After more than 53,000 votes were cast last week, North Daviess senior quarterback Keaton Graber came away with the Week 6 Player of the Week title following a 343-yard, 4-touchdown performance in a win over West Washington.

This week, six athletes from across Southern Indiana are up for the honor of Southern Indiana Football Player of the Week after turning in standout performances that helped their teams to dominant wins. Voting closes Thursday at 6 p.m. Voting will be available at the bottom of this page.

Kalen Sipes – RB, Providence (Jr.)

Sipes delivered one of the top rushing performances in the state in Week 7, carrying the ball 16 times for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns in Providence’s 51–7 win over Scecina Memorial. The junior broke free for an 89-yard touchdown run and helped the Pioneers move the ball efficiently all night in the home victory.

Parker Phillippe – QB, Owen Valley (So.)

Phillippe was 11-of-15 passing for 233 yards and 2 touchdowns, and also added 69 yards rushing and 2 more scores on the ground. He finished with 302 total yards and 4 touchdowns, leading the Patriots to a key Western Indiana Conference victory.

Treysean Hawkins – RB/DB, Seymour (Sr.)

He carried the ball 15 times for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns, caught 2 passes for 79 yards and a third score, and added 9 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and a sack on defense.

Braelyn Kleehammer – QB, Scottsburg (Sr.)

Kleehammer was efficient and explosive in Scottsburg’s 70–7 win over Clarksville. The senior quarterback completed 6 of 7 passes for 163 yards and 4 touchdowns, and added 3 rushing touchdowns on just three carries. Kleehammer accounted for 7 total touchdowns as the Warriors dominated start to finish.

Jett Goldsberry – QB/DB, Heritage Hills (Sr.)

Goldsberry did a little of everything as Heritage Hills routed Mt. Vernon 69–7. He was 6-of-9 passing for 225 yards and 5 touchdowns, added 34 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns on the ground, and also had an interception returned 15 yards on defense. The senior contributed to seven touchdowns in the win.
