In a battle of southeastern Indiana football powerhouses, Tecumseh will travel to the Providence Pioneers with the Sectional championship on the line. Tecumseh comes in undefeated on the year and will look to stay that way. 8-3 Providence is not to be counted out as they have shown the ability to compete in big games all year. The Pioneers will look to play the role of spoiler Friday night.

Chase Jones is a Beast

Courier-Times

There’s not much to say about this student-athlete that hasn’t been said already. The kid can ball. Just last week Jones compiled 357 yards rushing and 6 TD. Chase is one of the most humble superstars you will ever meet and both he and his coach are quick to give credit to teammates above themselves.

He (Chase) is surrounded by great teammates who unselfishly play like crazy for him. He is a driven young man who has set some lofty goals and worked very hard to achieve them. He has done a good job with his strength and conditioning and this year is a complete football player. He plays behind his pads and is just a beast on both sides of the ball. He does all the little things well. He is humble and gracious and overall just a great young man.

Tecumseh Head Coach Bret Szabo

Just take a look at his season stats and highlight vid! Colleges should be lining up around the block to sign this kid up.

Stats through 10 games: Rushing 228 rushes for 1,969 yards, 27 TDs Receiving 11 catches for 164 yards, 3 TDs Passing 2 for 2 for 49 yards, 2 TDs Special Teams 4 punts for 170 yards 1 kickoff for 90 yards, 1 TD Defense 25+ tackles 3 INTs 31 total TDs

Providence will definitely have to game plan to try and stop Chase and the rest of the Pioneers.

Tecumseh D Is Legit

While they haven’t played the strongest schedule in the state, far from it to be exact. Sagarin has them as playing the 228 best schedule to the date of this article. Regardless of any ranking or statistic these boys know how to stop the ball. They are outscoring opponents by a margin of 412-178 through 10 games. They are only allowing 17.8 points a game while scoring 41.2. I’d live with that margin.

Providence Is No Slouch

Providence employs a very healthy rushing attack of their own. They deploy three rushers that would likely be RB1 at any other school. Thomas Lynch, Cade Unruh, and Luke Kruer all average over 60 yards a game. Talk about a wealth of talent at the running back position. Being a private school the Pioneers play a lot of talented teams from both Indiana and Kentucky. This should prove useful in the big time atmosphere that will be the Sectional 48 championship game.

SISN Prediction

I just can’t bet against Tecumseh in this one. A big game by Chase Jones and that Tecumseh D will propel the Braves to the Regionals!
